ASIAN COMPOSERS LEAGUE - PHILIPPINES

Since its inception in 2005, the Asian Composers League, Philippines Inc. has continued to support and foster the development of contemporary music works of Filipino composers.  It is affiliated with the Asian Composers League (ACL), an international organization founded in 1973 to promote Asian composers' works and activities. Notably, the first Chairperson of this international circle of composers was Dr. Lucrecia Kasilag, a Filipino.  Since then,  over 26 Conferences and Festivals hosted by different member countries every year were held with great success.

The objectives of the Asian Composers League, Philippines Inc. include:

1) To encourage the creation of music based on Philippine or Asian identity;

2) To establish cultural ties between Asian and other countries involved in composing/performing contemporary music;

3) To build an audience that will be actively responsive and interested in contemporary music; and

4) To assist in the production of Filipino composers' works,  assuring the high quality of their performances and recordings.
